Who Am I?

I love to run. I love the outdoors.

This blog aims to talk about experiences of running, in nature. My undergraduate research allowed me to explore this in great detail and I am continuing this exploration through my MScR in Human Geography. I’m inspired by others who find joy in the outdoors, whatever their sport/activity. Im not a particularly fast runner but I love getting out to train and run in the hills, mountains and on the trails.

Currently, I am researching ultra-marathons, attempting to better understand and contextualise the motivations, experiences and reflections of those taking part in ultra-distance trail running events. Research is being conducted as a caste study, through a (digital) exploration of Scotland’s Cape Wrath ultra.

Basically this blog is just a platform for me to ‘ramble about running’.

I am also interested in non-conventional experiences of wild and natural landscapes, in particular disabled persons experiences. ‘My story’, about my own disability, was featured here in Runners Wold magazine: https://www.runnersworld.co.uk/training/motivation/human-race-i-just-love-it-all
